My Business Rewards Demand Response

 
 

My Business Rewards Demand Response is a rewards program where we pay businesses to voluntarily reduce the amount of electricity they use during a 'conservation event'.  

Conservation events take place when the statewide demand for power use is at its highest.  Demand response helps provide enough electricity to support the state's power needs.

Your business benefits from lower energy costs and payment from CPS Energy based on your electricity reduction during conservation events compared to your normal usage.  The community also benefits through lower energy costs. 

My Business Rewards Demand Response program details:

  • Conservation events occur on weekdays between 1 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. 
  • Your business receives 2 hours notice or 30 minutes notice, depending on your preference
  • Conservation events typically last 3 hours only
  • There are approximately 25 conservation events per season
  • After every conservation event, CPS Energy will inform you about how your business  performed
  • CPS Energy pays the participating businesses based on their electricity reduction during conservation events compared to normal usage
