CPS Energy's Community Engagement team is dedicated to enhancing customer service through comprehensive support and resources. Community Engagement fosters community awareness and participation in assistance programs by prioritizing energy equity, safety education, and compassionate customer support. Community Engagement’s specialized teams - Customer Response Unit (CRU), Casa Verde Weatherization, Community Outreach, and Energy to Business (E2B) – ensure our customers are connected to the programs right for their assistance needs.

 

The Customer Response Unit (CRU)

The unit employs a utility social services approach to address the unique challenges faced by our customers effectively. Through dedicated case management, our team offers personalized support tailored to individual needs. In addition, we provide bundled services that aim to raise community awareness and enhance enrollment in various customer assistance programs. We also extend our support during outages, ensuring our community has the resources and guidance to navigate difficult situations. CRU’s holistic approach fosters resilience and empowers customers to access the services they need for a better quality of life. 

The Casa Verde Weatherization

The team supports income-qualified customers in reducing their energy burden by providing free installation of energy efficiency upgrades. CPS’ Casa Verde program aims to enroll more customers by offering free installation of home weatherization improvements such as attic insulation, wall insulation, underbelly insulation, air sealing, duct sealing, window sealing, and other energy-saving measures.

The Community Outreach Team

The team is here to help customers save money and stay safe. We connect customers with programs to help reduce their energy bills, resources to help improve energy efficiency, and rebate offerings. Through outreach initiatives such as community resource fairs and partnerships with local agencies, the team is embedded in the community working for our customers. We also prioritize public safety and education, providing important safety information to schools, first responders, contractors, and public officials. By promoting these initiatives, we aim to create a safer, more informed community for everyone.
